Princes of Babylon began playing around Philly in '98 with Ry Pilla on drums, Dave Katowitz on bass, Uncle Craig on percussion, Dave Quicks on guitar and Rob Lamb on the mic. Chuck Fay joined the band in 2002 filling in for Dave Katowitz. Other vocalists who have been a part of the Princes Family include JMS, and Marlin Brown. They have toured throughout most of the country and have produced three albums. They have opened for many notable acts including Cypress Hill, Steel Pulse, Galactic, Macy Gray and G-Love.
The Princes Discography includes 3 self produced releases as well as a track on Jack Johnson's September Sessions (Meaningless Conversation). The only CD still available is Morphology which can be purchased on CD Baby.
In 2003, the band took a hiatus to work on other projects (BurnDown All-Stars, Dave Quicks Brainchild, among others). They reformed soon after for special shows as a trio with Ry Pilla on drums, Dave Quicks on guitar, and Dave Katowitz on bass. Some shows special guests such as Rob Lamb, JMS, and Marlin Brown join the group on stage. They currently play shows locally in the Philadelphia area and special shows in the Northeast Region.
